2026 Round applications from ICANN’s public listing: by string, applicant, country, type or ID, with the contention grouping and a not-authoritative disclaimer

Description

Look up applications in the ICANN 2026 Round of new gTLDs from ICANN’s public application listing (published at Reveal Day, 7 October 2026): who applied for a string, what an applicant or portfolio applied for, an application’s type (Brand, Community, Geo, IDN), labels (Applicant Support, RVC, Code of Conduct exemption), status and designated replacement string.

Disclaimer: Not authoritative: this is DataPulse’s reading of ICANN’s public listing of 2026 Round new gTLD applications. ICANN is still processing the applications; statuses, strings, contention sets and counts can change. ICANN’s New gTLD Program site (newgtldprogram.icann.org) is the record of reference. Every response carries it in disclaimer, with the snapshot time.

Filters combine (AND); with none, the whole listing is paged. string also returns contention: the Active applications for that identical string (or listing it as a variant) and the Active replacement records naming it. That grouping is DataPulse’s, not ICANN’s; ICANN publishes the contention sets of record.

Each primary application has an ID like CRRI2564-T55261; its replacement string, if designated, is a separate record with -R appended (application_type “Replacement String”, replacement_for the primary ID). A Deactivated replacement cannot be elected. Ultimate parents (AGB Q36) are not in the listing: the round analysis in datapulse_help(topic="gtld_2026_applications") groups portfolios by parent and covers contention, String Evaluation risks and the timeline. For the rules, use datapulse_agb_search.

Order: string (A-label), then ID. Paged (limit, offset; default 50, max 125): total and counts cover every match; truncated:true and next_offset mean more pages exist, and a partial page is a SUBSET. complete:false means records were rejected or the listing is short of the count ICANN’s listing reported; paging cannot recover them.

Parameters

ParameterTypeDescription
applicantstring
Case-insensitive substring of the applicant’s legal name (“Charleston Road”, “Amazon”).
application_idstring
ICANN application ID (CRRI2564-T55261). A -R suffix is that application’s replacement-string record.
countrystring
Applicant’s ISO 3166 country code (US, MT, KY).
include_replacementsboolean
Include designated replacement-string records (-R IDs). Default true.
Default: true
limitinteger
Applications per page. Omit or pass 0 for the default of 50; values above 125 are capped to 125. Each application is about 400 bytes.
Default: 50
offsetinteger
Applications to skip, for paging. Default 0. The response gives next_offset.
Default: 0
regionstring
ICANN region of the applicant.
AFAPEURLACNA
statusstring
Record status as ICANN lists it (Active, Deactivated); case-insensitive.
stringstring
A TLD label, with or without its leading dot, as an A-label or U-label (agent, .agent, 官网, xn–kbt444f). Matches applications for that string or listing it as a variant, and adds the contention grouping.
tld_typestring
Application type: Brand, Community, Geo (self-designated geographic), IDN, or Generic (none of these).
BrandCommunityGenericGeoIDN
